About
PARS Pakistan
Participatory Approach for Rural Sustainability (PARS) is a non-governmental organization established with the vision of promoting sustainable development through community participation, local ownership, and inclusive partnerships. We work closely with communities, government institutions, development partners, and donors to design and implement practical, evidence-based, and community-driven solutions that address local priorities, strengthen resilience, and improve the quality of life for vulnerable populations.
Our integrated development and humanitarian programmes span a wide range of sectors, including Education, Livelihoods, Health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Climate Change Resilience and Environmental Sustainability, Humanitarian and Emergency Response, Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, Disability Inclusion, Community Development, and Social Protection. Through these interventions, PARS enhances access to essential services, builds local capacities, strengthens institutions, and creates sustainable socio-economic opportunities for underserved communities.
PARS is firmly committed to the principles of equity, inclusion, accountability, transparency, gender equality, and respect for human rights. We adopt participatory, rights-based, and people-centred approaches that empower women, children, persons with disabilities, older persons, and other marginalized groups to actively participate in decisionmaking processes that shape their lives and communities.
Over the past fourteen years, PARS has successfully implemented a diverse portfolio of development and humanitarian programmes in partnership with local, national, and international organizations. Our work has supported emergency response and recovery, strengthened community resilience, improved livelihoods, expanded access to safe water and sanitation, promoted quality and inclusive education, enhanced health and nutrition services, advanced climate resilience, and provided protection and social support to vulnerable families through evidence-based and community-led interventions.
Today, PARS continues to build resilient, inclusive, and self-reliant communities by delivering high-quality, accountable, and sustainable programmes. Guided by our commitment to innovation, partnership, and local empowerment, we contribute to the achievement of the
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while creating lasting and meaningful impact for the people and communities we serve.
CHAIRMAN MESSAGE
JAVED MANGI
It is my great pleasure to present the profile of Participatory Approach for Rural Sustainability (PARS), an organization that has remained dedicated to improving the
lives of vulnerable communities across Pakistan for the past fourteen years.
Since its inception, PARS has been guided by the belief that sustainable development is only possible through community participation, local ownership, and strong partnerships. Driven by these principles, we have successfully implemented initiatives
in education, health, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), sustainable livelihoods,
climate resilience, humanitarian response, women and child protection, disability
inclusion, and community development.
At PARS, we believe that every community has the capacity to shape its own future
when equipped with the right opportunities, knowledge, and support. Our committed
team works closely with communities, government institutions, development partners,
and donors to design and implement practical, inclusive, and sustainable solutions that
respond to local priorities and deliver lasting impact.
Over the years, we have responded effectively to humanitarian emergencies,
strengthened community resilience, enhanced access to essentialservices, and promoted
inclusive development through transparent, accountable, and evidence-based
programming. Every initiative we undertake reflects our unwavering commitment to
integrity, professionalism, and respect for the dignity of the people we serve.
Our achievements would not have been possible without the trust and collaboration of
our development partners, government departments, civil society organizations, donors,
volunteers, and dedicated staff. I extend my sincere gratitude to each of them for their
continued support and shared commitment to improving the lives of those most in need.
With the blessings of Almighty Allah, PARS will continue to uphold the highest
standards of integrity, transparency, and excellence while expanding partnerships and
delivering sustainable solutions that empower communities and contribute to a more
resilient, inclusive, and prosperous Pakistan.
Thank you.
